Freeman, a Storm Lake insurance agent, had filed a statement of candidacy for the Arrowhead Area Education Agency board of directors. SPORTS: Gerry Wright scored a game-high 29 points and Greg Stokes added 16 to lead Iowa to a 85-56 season opening exhibition victory over the People’s Republic of China’s national team. Nov. 21, 1959 NEWS: Gregory Olson, 17, of Fort Dodge, was selected as Iowa’s top Boy Scout. SPORTS: St. Edmond’s five juniors stayed with Humboldt’s Wildcats for the major portion of three quarters before bowing, 54-41, in the boys’ basketball opener of both teams.
