NEWS: Fort Dodge voters resoundingly approved a $2.6 million bond issue for the construction of a new library west of the city square, 71.6 percent to 28.4 percent in a special election.

NEWS: Mercy Hospital’s golden anniversary celebration had special significance for two of those attending. Sister Mary Joseph and Sister Mary Dorothy were among the six Sisters of Mercy who came to Fort Dodge from Dubuque in 1908 to open the hospital in old Haskell House.
