Says stoplight is a problem

January 4, 2013

To the editor: Does anyone else find it absolutely ridiculous that myself and several other vehicles sat at the stoplight at South 30th Street and Fifth Avenue South for seven minutes....

The intersection near Good Year/Kemna Auto is also a long wait to get through. The traffic from the bridge, both sides, makes it difficult to cross traffic. Trying to leave the DOT God Fathers parking lot is a challenge. During my son's driving test, it too about 10 min for him to be able to "safely" enter traffic.

I've heard that is done purposely to raise money among several revenue genorating signs in town.

The stop light is the arm of the government. How dare you question it. You will sit and wait like all the others or you face fines or jail if you disobey...YEP, sarcasm mode engaged.

I wonder if the writer called the city to report the problem with any the energy she had left after getting ticked, driving back to Lake City, penning a letter, answering the call from the Messenger confirming her letter, reading her letter in the paper, and showing all her friends the letter she had written? My four cents is on..."No".

Ok, 1 more time, NOT 5th ave. I think the street is 29th st. I'm sure someone will come along and correct me.

I use to work nights and that stop light and the stop light at the Fazoli's intersection would NEVER turn for traffic going east and west, ultimately I would go thru them. What? Am I suppose sit there till dooms day wasting my time and GAS. Your not alone Stephanie.

I find most experiences in Fort Dodge to border on ridiculous whenever I'm home. I think a book should be written about it but, I think it would take an outsider to see it clear enough. Safe travels Stephanie!
