Confuse, they aren't sponge dart guns and Colonel, you better not P--- your girl friend off. Oh, and I have an AirRattle gun and with my experience with guns, even I don't try to shoot at a tree "a block or so away." Air current, etc is going to throw that little pellet off course.

Why are most of you defending the retards who were the cause of this incident in the first place? I don't think Nerf makes these kind of toys. My girlfriend has one of those airsoft guns and it can shoot a plastic bb at a tree a block away so, I'm thinking these things aren't meant to be used in a motel where normal people are trying to get some rest. I actually feel sorry for FD cops for once for having to deal with such morons.

Let's see... personal property confiscated by the police... no charges filed... "perps" not arrested... toys probably aren't 'evidence' then, are they?

Any word from the police or Messenger on how these people... foolish though they might have acted... go about getting their personal property returned to them?

I don't remember for sure, but doesn't that have something to do with the 4th Amendment?

Well done! The police took those guns off the street. I feel much safer now. Lets get back to checking railroad crossings and speed cameras where the real money is and get the real hardened criminals off the streets.

Cops have the authority to take away nerf guns? These people should have known that playing with sponge darts could land you in the big house, if they wanted to get away with something they should have robbed a bank.
