Kids picking on kids has always happened and always will. I was bullied my self. One day, he followed me all the way home, pushing me in the back all the way there. When I got home I ran into the house and he started trashing my bike in the back yard. I had enough and went out side and proceeded to kick his arse. Never had another problem with him. Bullys need to be put in their place.
I missed this letter but I really need to respond to wkupia - how does children bullying others lead to Washington politicians? Children learn their habits from the people they are closest too. I guarantee that my kids pay no attention to politicians and their behavior. Many bullies have parents that are bullies or parents that don't care. So instead of placing blame or saying what if...deal with what is happening now and stand up against it.
It is only a matter of time before "bullying" is deemed a mental illness, thus protected by the disabilities laws. If it is an "illness" doesn't that make one who goes against a bully also an insensitive bully? Oh how lawyers could twist this mess. I still think childhood A.D.D. is just part of being a child, but us adults can't handle it and choose to drug up our kids to make them more manageable.
I find it ironic that we try to teach kids how destructive bullying can be, and yet look at the so called adults in Washington DC. Politicians are the worst! They'd best start setting better examples for the younger generation.
