Furloughs, my foot - just cut ALL govt employees' pay and retirees' benefits a bit and ask REID and BOEHNER to approve that; after all, they and Obama just did the same, effectively, with restoration of the 2% they had previously cut from everyone's SS contribution. Believe me, an across-the-board cut of ALL govt departments salaries, retiree benefits and other expenditures would hardly nick the federal fat!
