Council members should get a raise only if they eliminate either the separate mayor's position or the city manager's position. There's no need for both a council/city management form of government and the strong mayor form. They can rotate the mayor's part time duties every year to supervise the meetings and hold up the ground hog. Or, they can eliminate the city manager and keep the mayor.

A 27 percent pay raise? You must be kidding. Guess money grows on trees in good ole FD.

What are you talking about, momofmj? We got all kinds of money to throw at frivolous special interest projects... What's good for the goose is good for the gander, right?

Is anyone else getting a raise right now? WAKE UP!!!! In this economy, most of us are lucky to still be employed, with cut hours. There have been talks of budget shortfalls for so long, I think granting yourself a raise is just plain crazy.
