FD, please do not call me "white". I prefer "Russian, German and a little Swedish American", thank you for being PC.

FD, your comment makes no sence. You were being PC in what you stated. You do not want to offend anyone. Why should I or anyone else keep my opnion to myself for fear of offending someone?

Yeah, FtDlover; a bit like govt "spending" offending Democrats, but not govt "investments." Asia is a geographical area that includes Oriental, Caucasian and Semitic peoples, Asian applies to all peoples living there.

It is not about being PC; it is about being aware of and sensitive to the impact of certain words on others.

Have a PC dictionary of your own, FtDlover? Surely the Messenger would have ****d out "oriental" were it really PinC, as it once did with Moynihan's monograph title "The N**** Family in America" and, at an earlier time, even "Socialist." How PinC can one get, eh?

Why don't the other races have these kind of speakers? You do not have to be white to be a racisist. Are you brown, black native am. or oriential? If so, good for you. Are you white and proud? Then if you are you are a bigot. Skinheads*****and so does discrimination but why are the whites the only ones ever apologizing and trying to make things better? Heres an example, a person that is black or any other color than white can walk down any street at 2 in the morning and have no problem. If you are white, try that in the flats.

Isn't it odd that this guy grew up in a diverse community where, allegedly, they all "knew" each other but still hated each other and engaged in various forms of violence against each other, but those homogenous rural Amish also hated everyone who was different and engaged in violence against those who were different, yet the Amish were somehow more racist or intolerant than was the speaker or more more diverse Philadelphians? Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? I remember when most hotels and restaurant in Dodge wouldn't accommodate a black patron and Des Moines asked the feds to move WAAC training from DSM when the vast majority of its recruits beca,me black. But this is today and while there will always be intolerant individuals, there is little or no institutional discrimination. It seems ICCC is engaged more in social indoctrination in this case than in education, which is the business for which ICCC was created and our taxes are expended.

Doesn't it seem odd that this guy grew up in a very mixed community where, allegedly, they all "knew" each other but still hated each other and engaged in various forms of violence against each other, but those rural Amish where everyone was similar also hated everyone who was different and engaged in violence against those who were different, yet the Amish were somehow more racist or intolerant than was the speaker or more diverse Philadelphians? If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is. I remember when most hotels and restaurant in Dodge wouldn't accommodate a black patron and Des Moines asked the feds to move WAAC training from there to Georgia the vast majority of new recruits had become black. But this is today and there will always be bigots among us, but little or no institutional discrimination; so it seems ICCC is engaged more in social indoctrination than education, which is the business for which ICCC was created and taxes are expend

Racism is alive and well in Ft Dodge. True, it is not the majority but the presence of racism is toxic to a community. I applaud ICCC for bringing this speaker. If it causes students to speak up against discrimination and racism, it is money well-spent.

Does Iowa Central have a skinhead problem? I'm guessing they don't, as I've never heard anything about skinhead problems at Iowa Central.

If there is no skinhead problem, why is Iowa Central spending money on these type of speakers? Apparently, and it's a good thing, virtually no one in Webster County is attracted to skinheads. That being the case, why is Iowa Central spending money on these type of speakers? Is some one else picking up the tab for this speaking engagement? If so, whom?

Taxpayer money should be reserved for more meaningful speakers. There are plenty of lecturers who might actually have an academic background of some consequence and whom might bring the public some information on matters of consequence. Perhaps Iowa Central could bring in some speakers on Persian culture and Iran prior to our government cooking up some new, unaffordable war? One highly informative topic to be addressed might be the CIA coup which overthrew the Iranian Government back in 19
