To the editor: My wife and I were in Kansas after the Iowa State/Kansas basketball game when, thankfully, the Jayhawks won in overtime in Ames....

Deeming Mississippi and Alabama as states where racism is considered acceptable is ridiculous. Racism is abundant throughout the world. So is ignoring one's own failures while scapegoating the failures of others. Thanks for so thoroughly demonstrating the latter point Mr Adams.

It's just a basketball game. Must people really get so worked up about it? Perhaps our universities could better succeed absent these hateful passions?

That is why I am glad I have no interest in sports. It is called mob mentality. Each person alone, the majority would be civil. In groups, a few trouble makers can spread the though and cause others acting as a group to do stupid things they would not do on their own.
