I don't disagree that the $150 is probably a fair price for the time involved in the research. However I wonder how much city staff time has been wasted dealing with the press on the this issue. They would have been better off compromising at $75, adopting a clear cut policy for the future, and avoiding all this negative publicity.

Jason, I understand your frustration. I'm not a Humbolt residence. I do know there are state statutes that may apply to this. Your're doing the correct thing to use the rights you have. Did you vote and attend the council meetings regarding this policy decision. I hope you did. Vote these people out! I don' think your town's leadership should be known for "Idiots Out Wandering Around."

Have them add your e-mail address to all city e-mails and then it would not cost them anything. Wait that may be more information then the leaders would want you to know.

More theft of tax payer money, it's OK to waste $30k, but when faced with the chore to produce documents pertaining to the matter they stonewall by claiming it's for the good of the citizens their having to charge a fee! Humboldt could've gotten a better product for less money, (concrete vs blacktop) brought in people from out of town which would have benefited the local motel, restaurants, grocery stores, bars...ect. Are there going to be sidewalks installed this time? Fire the city admin & clerk, then vote out those council members who voted yea!
