CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death of a Cedar Rapids man as a homicide.
The Cedar Rapids Police Department says 31-year-old Clifton Diapolis Sparks was found lying on a street shortly after midnight Tuesday. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police say Sparks sustained a traumatic injury, but additional information was not released. An autopsy is pending.
Authorities say the case remains under investigation, but they do not believe there is any immediate threat to the public.
The death marks the third homicide in Cedar Rapids this year.
