WEST OKOBOJI — Joanne (Steinhoff) Mckee, age 76, of West Okoboji, Iowa formerly of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Corpus Christi Church. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with a Vigil for the Deceased at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

She is survived by her seven children, Lisa (Steve) Leppert of Manson; Paula Steinhoff of Ames; Shane (Julie) Steinhoff of Fort Dodge; Amy (Mike) Baschke of Sioux City, IA; Carrie (Pat) Koester of Ankeny; Jill Crimmins of Manson; and Jana (John) Hacker of Manson; 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Delores (Klotz) O’Keefe; two grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Hanson and Dee Hergenreter, and a brother, Jack (John) O’Keefe.

Joanne F. O’Keefe was born August 27, 1931 in Fort Dodge. She attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High. After raising her seven children, Joanne worked for Land O’ Lakes in Fort Dodge. She later moved to West St. Paul, MN where she continued to work for Land O’ Lakes. After her retirement, Joanne wintered in Zapata, Texas and in the summer months lived in West Okoboji. She loved antiques, garage sales, auctions, taking in stray animals, and people. Joanne worked at Antique, Etc. in Arnolds Park and was a member of the Questers.
