Latta wins teacher’s award

Butler Elementary School second-grade teacher JoAnn Latta helps Kacee Gollob, right, with her math work as fellow student Trey Kasperbauer solves a few problems on his own. Latta was honored with an Office Max Award which included a package of classroom supplies valued at over $1,100. The award is part of the company’s A Day Made Better 2008 which is a national campaign to reward teachers. According to the company, teachers spend an average of $1,200 of their own money on classroom supplies each school year.
