Lawler receives ag scholarship

CLARE - Kristin Lawler has been awarded the $1,000 Iowa Poultry Association Scholarship by the Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement.

Lawler is a student in the agricultural business program at Iowa Central Community College. She is a 2008 graduate of Manson Northwest Webster High School. Lawler is the daughter of Denny and LeAnn Lawler of Clare.

Pratt to be president of ITAG Association

Diane Pratt has been named president-elect of the Iowa Talented and Gifted Association at the organization's annual state conference. Following a year as president-elect, Pratt will serve a two-year term as president of the association.

Pratt has served three terms on the ITAG Board of Directors. She has been involved with talented and gifted learners for more than 25 years.

Currently, Pratt serves as a TAG instructor at Fair Oaks Middle School and is the advisor to TAG students at Fort Dodge Senior High. Pratt also teaches TAG endorsement classes for the University of Iowa and has presented at numerous conferences.
