AMES - The Iowa Central wrestling team had some stiff competition on Saturday at the Iowa State Cyclone Open.

The second-ranked Tritons had four wrestlers place in the top-6.

Joe Colon was fourth at 125 pounds, while Pat Hunter (125) was sixth.

Twin River Valley graduate Marshall Koethe (133) finished fifth.

Brendon Parker (149) was also fifth.

"It was tough competition with guys from Iowa, Iowa State, Northern Iowa, Nebraska and Oklahoma in the field,'' said Iowa Central head coach Luke Moffitt. "We saw some good things and some bad things.

"Joe (Colon) had a good day wrestling back for fourth. He wrestled seven times in the meet, so we're getting some matches and building some confidence.''

The Tritons head to Omaha next Saturday for the UNO Open.
