If you're searching for a super way to spend some fun time this evening and during the day on Saturday, Fall Fest should be just the ticket.
Fall Fest 2010 kicks off this evening with a concert at the Oleson Park Bandshell. The entertainment is co-sponsored by the Fort Dodge Area Chamber of Commerce and the Fort Dodge Young Professionals. The featured band is the Fishheads, which will perform from 8 to 11 p.m.
Saturday morning Fall Fest action continues in downtown Fort Dodge. The wide array of attractions will keep attendees entertained from early in the day until 3 p.m.

This is the 19th annual Fall Fest. It will combine activities that have proved popular over the years with some new elements sure to prove popular.
Some of the traditional elements that please crowds every year are back, including the Dodger Cyclists' Fall Fest Bicycle Ride and the Cruiz-in Fall Fest car show. Among the other activities are miniature golf, a kids parade, a photo contest and a competition to design a new Fall Fest logo.
For the athletically inclined, Webster County Conservation kicks off Fall Fest early Saturday morning with the 2010 Adventure Triathlon.
There will be entertainment aplenty at a stage located at the Central Square Gazebo. Live performances will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until midafternoon. The constantly changing panorama of talent provides an excellent reason to return to this venue frequently as the day progresses.
Anyone interested in local history should not fail to stop by the Fort Dodge Public Library to view assorted displays. There will also be Fall Fest Historical Tours at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. To register for a tour call the Fort Dodge Area Chamber of Commerce at 955-5500.
Central Avenue will be lined with booths showcasing local businesses, organizations and activities. Crafters and artisans will also have their work on display.
One of the Chamber's goals with this year's event is to increase the focus on art. There will be a special section designated Artists Alley.
The opportunity to win prizes has been a popular component of previous Fall Fest celebrations and is being enhanced this year to include more and bigger prizes.
There will also be food in abundance. Better put off that diet until Sunday.
