The Fort Dodge girls swim team suffered a 134-36 setback to Ames on Tuesday night at the Dodger pool.
Brittany Graham swam to a first place finish in the 500 freestyle (6:03.17) and the Dodgers were third in five other events.
"We ran into a buzz saw against probably the best team in the state. Ames is big and fast," said Dodger coach Jake Anderson. "We did have some good times tonight. Brittany won the 500 freestyle with a good swim. We have conference next week and we will see how we do against some pretty good teams."
The Dodgers picked up bronze medals in the medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 freestyle relay.
Angie Ellendson, Lauren Underwood, Molly Hall, and Graham were third in both the medley (2:10.99) and the 200 freestyle relay (1:57.62).
Mackenzie Johnson, Ellendson, Hall, and Graham finished in 4:26 for third in the 400 freestyle relay.
Individually, Ellendson came in third in the 200 freestyle (2:15.10). Underwood picked up the final bronze of the night in the 100 breastroke (1:20.73).
