Doug Van Zyl has joined the board of directors of the Fort Dodge Area Chamber of Commerce.
Van Zyl is the superintendent of the Fort Dodge Community School District. He received his bachelor of arts in elementary education from Northwestern College in Orange City and his master's in education from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
He and wife Danielle have three children. Van Zyl was previously a Chamber board member in Harrisonville, Mo., and is a Fort Dodge Noon Rotary Club member.
