Alaina Porter, a third-grader at Duncombe Elementary School, entered the Doodle 4 Google competition "What I'd Like To Do Someday." Doodle 4 Google is a competition that invites K-12 students redesign Google's homepage logo.

Out of 107,000 submissions, Porter's design titled, "All About Art," was chosen as one of 400 state finalists. Only two entries from each grade category are chosen from each state. Porter's design was one of two chosen to represent grades K-3 in the state of Iowa.

Porter's design wasn't chosen as one of the 40 regional finalists, but she will receive a T-shirt from the Google company and have her design featured on Google's website. Her winning entry can be viewed by visiting www.google.com/doodle4google/winners_state.html and scrolling down to Iowa.

Alaina is the daughter of Roger and Amy Porter.
