Chapter 198, Fort Dodge, of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association has contributed $4,200 to the more than $9 million dollars donated to Alzheimer's research by members nationwide.

Dorothea Watnem, of Humboldt, is chairman of the Fort Dodge chapter, which collects money at chapter meetings and makes an item to be taken to the state convention's silent auction. Money from that auction is donated to Alzheimer's research.

NARFE, founded in 1921 to protect the rights of active and retired federal workers, has provided 40 grants for Alzheimer's research to date.
