CLEAR LAKE - Opportunity Village is expanding thrift store operations, and is now open from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Village General Store on Highway 18 West in Clear Lake.

Also, a second store will open later this year in Fort Dodge. That store will be in a Village-owned building which has housed the vocational training site Northwoods Products and Services at 12 N. 25th St.

The vocational program, part of Opportunity Village services, is moving. Volunteers will be needed to help with the store startup as well as with ongoing store operations. Anyone interested in volunteering at the Fort Dodge store may contact Kris Hillmer-Pierson at 573-5757.

Opportunity Village supports approximately 680 individuals with disabilities throughout northern Iowa.

Donations of gently used items will be accepted soon in Fort Dodge.
