Dizzying costs and battalions of support staff have come to characterize many American weddings.
Planning and preparing for Marriagepalooza can be a pain in the neck.
Enter Barb Vonsak.

Barb Vonsak sorts vases at Perfectly Done by Barb, 1716 Second Ave. N. Vonsak offers many wedding decoration items for rent.
This summer, Vonsak launched Perfectly Done by Barb as a full-time gig.
Her mission is to help take the stress out of wedding preparation and offer a one-stop shop for matrimonial needs.
Vonsak, who entered the wedding planning business part time in 2010, decided to retire from her job at Target in Fort Dodge and further pursue her business, currently located at 1716 Second Ave. N.
"I planned my daughter's wedding a few years ago and really liked doing it," said Vonsak. "I decided I wanted to do this."
To date, Vonsak has helped plan 20 weddings to various degrees.
This summer, Vonsak will be involved with 16 weddings, she said.
The key to a stress-free wedding, said Vonsak, is organization planning, planning and more planning.
"It helps to have somebody in charge, kind of a go-to person," she said.
That role, said Vonsak, is one she enjoys.
However, the degree to which Vonsak is involved in planning particular weddings varies according to the wishes of the customer.
Her services range from providing decoration rentals to full-on organization of all the details of a wedding.
Vonsak said she works to learn as much as possible about area venues, photographers and other wedding-related vendors and provide such information to her customers.
"I encourage people to buy local," Vonsak said.
In addition to supporting the area economy, dealing with local businesses can be an asset if any last-minute needs arise, she said.
Another wedding stress reliever is developing a budget.
Vonsak said she often works with people to determine how much they wish to spend and offer cost-saving suggestions.
"You can save a lot of money by renting things instead of buying them," she said.
To facilitate this, Vonsak has acquired linens, vases, candles and other effluvia available for rent.
"I'm always on the lookout for more stuff," she said.
