"In the field evaluation of growing crops" will be offered by Iowa Central Community College, in Fort?Dodge, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., on July 27 at the ICCC farm located two miles west of the Webster County Fairgrounds.
Even though it is the last session for "Partners in Agricultur," a program for farm women who assist in making decisions that will affect the profitability of the farm, this session is open to men.
Bob Streit, a private crop consultant, will show how to measure soil compaction and its affects on growing crops, illustrate growth stages of corn and soybeans, identify common weeds, diseases affecting the crop, and insect identification and life cycles, along with how to tell if a plant is healthy or not. Time will be available for questions and answers.
