"In the field evaluation of growing crops" which was scheduled for Wednesday has been reset for Aug. 16 due to hot weather concerns, said Gary Willits, program coordinator.

The event is offered by Iowa Central Community College, in Fort?Dodge, and will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the ICCC farm located two miles west of the Webster County Fairgrounds.

Even though it is the last session for "Partners in Agriculture," a program for farm women who assist in making decisions that will affecting the profitability of the farm, this session is open to men, Willits said.

Bob Streit, a private crop consultant, will discuss how to measure soil compaction and its effects on growing crops, illustrate growth stages of corn and soybeans, identify common weeds, diseases affecting the crop, and insect identification and life cycles, along with how to tell if a plant is healthy or not. Time will be available for questions and answers.

To preregister for the program call (800) 362-2793, Ext. 1293 or (515) 574-1293.

There is no charge for the event.
