Cathy Dencklau, Fort Dodge, is one of two recipients of the Tom Thornblade Award from Opportunity Village for outstanding job performance in support of people with disabilities. Dee Hollatz, Garner, also received the award.
Dencklau has been a registered nurse at Northwoods Living, a service of Opportunity Living, for more than 21 years. She was recognized for putting in extra hours, helping with client care other than nursing, running client programs, helping out in the kitchen and transporting lunches to the work site.
Opportunity Village awards seven Thornblade Awards during the year to stall members who exemplify the caring and dedication of the late Tom Thornblade, a longtime employee.
