Student teachers to be in area classrooms

All are from BVU’s Fort Dodge center

A number of area students from the Fort Dodge location of Buena Vista University Graduate and Professional Studies are fulfilling student teaching requirements this fall.

Tawny Anderson, Lehigh, is student teaching at Feelhaver Elementary School in second grade under Angie Utley with her second eight-week placement in fifth grade under Norine Paulson at Fair Oaks Middle School. Anderson is majoring in elementary education.

Tamara Entin, Clarion, is student teaching at Phillips Middle School in special education under Anne Macek. Her second placement will be in 9-12 English under Christine Leichsenring. Entin is majoring in English.

May Helvik, Fort Dodge, is student teaching in 9-12 business education under Tracy Hartley at Fort Dodge Senior High with her second placement also in 9-12 business education under Amy Jaeschke. Helvik is a post baccalaureate business major.

Thomas Klett, Rockwell City, is student teaching in 9-12 English at Fort Dodge Senior High under Andrea K. Adams. His second placement will also be in 9-12 English under Sara Larson. Klett is a post baccalaureate English major at BVU.

Tawni Langstaff, Fort Dodge, is student teaching at Feelhaver Elementary School under Gail Thompson in first grade. Her second placement will be in fourth grade under Sara Meyer at Duncombe Elementary School. Langstaff is majoring in elementary education.

Kylee Myers, Humboldt, is student teaching at Mease Elementary School in Dakota City in first grade under Michelle Zaugg with her second placement in fourth grade at Pocahontas Area Elementary School in Pocahontas under Gwen Johnson. Myers is an elementary education major.

Megan Sabin, Algona, is student teaching at Taft Elementary School in Humboldt in third grade under Josephine Alstott. Her second placement will be at Seton Elementary School in Algona in fifth grade under Kristie Hough. Sabin is majoring in elementary education.

Jodie Will, Fort Dodge, is student teaching at Cooper Elementary School in kindergarten under Maria Lehman with her second placement with Sara McCullough in fourth grade at St. Mary School in Humboldt. Will is majoring in elementary education.

Kara Wirtz, Fort Dodge, is student teaching at Feelhaver Elementary School in kindergarten under Jen Cordle. Her second placement will be at Butler Elementary School in fourth grade under Candy Pavik. Wirtz is majoring in elementary education.

University supervisors for the students include: Lynda Peterson, Phil Reed, Robert Allen, Sally Kraayenbrink, and Ruth Yoder, all from Fort Dodge, and Helen Beneke from Pocahontas.
