The Fort Dodge Community Foundation and United Way is accepting grant applications to support initiatives in Webster County. The funds must be used for grants to charitable organizations for educational, civic, public, charitable, patriotic, or religious uses.

All grant applications are due Nov.15 for the first round of funding. Application forms are available at the Fort Dodge Community Foundation and United Way, 822 Central Ave, Suite 405, Fort Dodge, or online at and click on Endow Iowa Grants.

The Endow Iowa grants are made available under the County Endowment Fund Program from the State of Iowa.

The Iowa Legislature has allocated one-half of 1 percent of the state's total gambling revenues to this program to enable qualified community foundations to fund community needs and build county-wide endowments. This program provides 85 Iowa counties who do not have a gambling license with proceeds from state-wide gambling revenues. Under this program 75 percent of the funds will be granted to projects and programs in the counties and 25 percent must be placed in a permanent endowment fund.

Contact the Fort Dodge Community Foundation and United Way at 573-3179 for additional information about the Endow Iowa Program.
