Chase investigation continues in FD

Investigation continues into an early morning police chase Thursday that ended with a Fort Dodge police officer firing his weapon and the suspect being apprehended unharmed.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has been asked to help investigate the officer-involved portion of the incident, according to Fort Dodge Police Chief Tim Carmody. The officers involved in the incident have not been identified pending completion of the investigation.

On Friday, Carmody said that the results of the investigation would not be available for several days.

The chase ended around 4:23 a.m. Thursday in the 800 block of North Ninth Street.

Pierre P. Rochon, 27, of Fort Dodge, was taken into custody after the incident.

Rochon was charged with felony eluding and third-degree burglary, both Class D felonies; as well as operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent, an aggravated misdemeanor; and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor.
