Employees from the Fort Dodge Hy-Vee store are among nearly 2,500 Hy-Vee employees honored for achieving new service milestones in 2011.
Hy-Vee's Service Awards program, now in its 47th year, recognizes employees for continuous service to the company. As a series of eight banquets held in October throughout Hy-Vee's eight-state operating territory, the company pays tribute to employees reaching service milestones ranging from five to 45 years.
In addition, this year Hy-Vee will honor nearly 2,000 employees with more than 20 years of continuous service to the company, as well as nine employees who were recently inducted into the Hy-Vee Hall of Fame as recipients of the 2010 Legendary Customer Service Award.
Employees celebrating service anniversaries receive customized gifts that increase in value as the years of service increase. In addition, their photos are published in a special souvenir book distributed throughout the company.
Recipients also receive personal congratulations from Hy-Vee Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ric Jurgens, who poses for a commemorative photos with each Service Award recipient.
"The employees we honor through the Service Awards program have demonstrated their commitment to upholding the Hy-Vee fundamentals of friendliness, helpfulness, honesty, dedication and respect," Jurgens said. "Their efforts enable Hy-Vee to carry out its mission of making lives easier, healthier and happier in communities throughout the Midwest."
The nine Service Award recipients from Fort Dodge were honored at a banquet held Monday in West Des Moines.
Those reaching service milestones this year were:
Five years - Anthony Ayala, Sue Creger, Jeremy Lochray, Jill Messerly and Jim Potts
Ten years - Chris Donner-Tiernan
Fifteen years - Mark Bauer and Kaye Miklo
Twenty years - John Point.
