To the editor:
The citizens of Ward 2 have a wonderful opportunity on Tuesday when they go cast their votes for City Council, they have the choice to support a hard-working man with great vision and outstanding character. That choice is Jeffrey Halter.
Jeff grew up in Iowa. He shares our heritage of hard work and helping others. He taught in an inner-city school in Las Vegas. Dedicated and compassionate, he made a difference in the lives of many disadvantaged youths.
Jeff returned to Iowa to make his home in Fort Dodge. He and his wife started a business, Green Door Photography, where they provide a high-quality service to this community, employ several people and get involved with civic events.
The examples of how Jeff Halter contributes to the Fort Dodge community are endless. He and his wife visit my kindergarten classroom every year during our community study. They read to the class, share about their jobs, and take photos of the students. They even make bookmarks for them to promote the importance of reading. Every fundraising event I have attended has had a donation from Green Door. That's because Jeff Halter cares about our community and its people. Whether it is local schools, community service organizations or private individuals, he is always eager to lend a helping hand.
I have no doubt Jeff Halter would be an excellent council person. Fort Dodge would be fortunate to have him represent them. Voters, you have the power to elect Halter on Tuesday. Vote for a man who works hard to make his community a better place. Vote for a man who cares. Vote for Jeff Halter.

To the editor:
We need a City Council member who is an informed positive communicator between our local government and the people, and that is why I support Jeffrey Halter.
I know that he is going to look out for the best interests of the people of Fort Dodge and will be sure that our tax dollars are used effectively. In hearing him speak it is obvious that he is well informed and the kind of fresh representative that is needed for Ward Two. Halter has made it clear that he wants to work cooperatively and productively with the people, the governing bodies of our city, the businesses that employ the people of Fort Dodge and our local schools that educate our future. He is a representative that can inspire a community with his passion and enthusiasm to improve our city. We all need to support a fresh face and fresh voice for ward two by voting for Jeffrey Halter on Tuesday.
