HUMBOLDT - The Humboldt-Dakota City Noon Kiwanis Club Christmasland is now open.
Christmasland is on First Avenue South in Humboldt, one block south of downtown, directly south of Humboldt City Hall,
The attraction features live animated figures in many displays. It has been visited by more than 100,000 people since its opening in 1982. Visitors from most of the 50 states and some foreign countries have seen the displays. New additions this year include improvements to the railroad scene and a new world map.
Christmasland hours are nightly through Dec. 23, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Christmasland will also be open from 2:30 to4:30 p.m. today and Sunday, Dec. 10-11, Dec. 17-24. However, it will be closed during inclement weather.
The Kiwanis Club has never charged admission to Christmasland, but donations are appreciated as they help the exhibit grow.
Christmasland will be open by arrangement for group tours. Call Dave Lee, 890-0116, to schedule a day and time. School groups, nursing homes, group homes, church groups and organizations are welcome.
