Miller to be installed Jan. 22

Following a 13-month search, the Rev. Craig D. Miller will be installed as pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, 2220 10th Ave. N., during a 9 a.m. service on Jan. 22.

The Rev. Danette Johns, assistant to the Western Iowa Sunod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America bishop, will preside over both the service and installation.

Miller has been a pastor of the E.L.C.A. for 25 years. A Des Moines native, he graduated from Des Moines Roosevelt High School in 1974. He attended Des Moines Community College and Grand View College in Des Moines, graduating with an interdisciplinary degree in 1982. He graduated from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque with a master of divinity degree in 1986. Miller was ordained in 1986. He has served Lutheran congregations in Remsen and Liberal, Kan.

A second installation will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe, where Miller will also serve as pastor.
