Jive for Five!, a local brass quintet, will perform in concert at 2 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Performing Arts Center of Perry High School, 1200 18th St., Perry.
Group members are:
Tim Miller, trumpet, director of bands at Humboldt Middle School
Dave Swaroff, trumpet, director of bands at Southeast Webster Grand Elementary schools
Kathy Yoakam, French horn, director of elementary bands at Humboldt Schools
Dan Cassady, trombone, retired director of bands at St. Edmond High School
Paul Bloomquist, tuba, director of bands at Iowa Central Community College.
The group has a repertoire of more than 300 tunes, including music by Bach, the Beatles, Dave Brubeck, Duke Ellington and Broadway musical scores.
In addition to teaching and performing in Jive for Five!, all five members are involved with other organizations, including the Fort Dodge Area Symphony, Karl L. King Municipal Band and other performing groups.
Perry Fine Arts concerts are free and open to the public. The Performing Arts Center is handicapped accessible.
