An Agriculture Summit will be held at the Iowa State University Extension office in Fort Dodge Feb. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The Summit was announced by state Rep. Helen Miller, D-FD.
"The production of corn, soybeans, and livestock is the core of wealth creation in north central Iowa," Miller said in a press release.
The program is intended to inform local, state and national leaders about the significance of what Miller called an "economic catalyst." It will describe current developments and review prospects for partnerships to increase capacity and impact for the region.
Confirmed speakers include Brent Bunte, chief executive officer/general manager of NEW Co-op; Dennis Plautz, chief executive officer of the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance; and Joe Horan, farmer and member of Goldfield Corn LP Ethanol, as well as the Manson City Council. Pending resource speakers include representatives from Cargill, Iowa State University and Poet.
