HUMBOLDT - Cathy Giddings, rural Humboldt, is a recipient of the Tom Thornblade Award, given by Opportunity Village for outstanding job performance in support of people with disabilities.
Giddings serves as a personal support professional with Northwoods Living, Fort Dodge, where she has been employed since NWL, now a service of Opportunity Village, opened in 1989.
Opportunity Village awards several Thornblade Awards during the year to staff members who exemplify the caring and dedication demonstrated by the late Tom Thornblade, a longtime employee.
