To the editor:
On Feb. 16 in The Messenger, there was a story about the McCarvilles asking Kim Alstott to step down. I have three words for the McCarvilles - "get over it." The election was clear back in November and you're still whining about it. Sounds like sour grapes to me. I sure hope that Kelly Hindman is not a part of this cry fest.
Mr. Alstott will serve the people of Fort Dodge proudly and he and the other new council members will be fiscally responsible to the taxpayers. They will make the words "Lean Government" mean something, unlike our past council that just threw those words around, while they buried us deeper and deeper in debt. Mr. Alstott will not step down nor should he. I was raised back in school to not be a sore loser if I lost, but I guess there are some people who never grow up.
