The LESS is MORE wellness series will continue at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Celebration Center at Friendship Haven, 420 Kenyon Road, with the focus shifting to intellectual wellness.

This free educational series is intended to explore each of the six dimensions of health in depth and to help seniors explore and embrace healthy aging. The programs are free and open to the public with no reservations required.

Intellectual wellness is only one of the six dimensions of health, the other being emotional, spiritual, physical, social and vocational. Each dimension is equally important and all six dimensions overlap and influence each other to create overall wellness. The LESS is MORE series is intended to explore each dimension in depth and to help people understand what healthy aging encompasses.

Participants in Less is More can opt to be part of an interactive event - the Remember When? program to challenge the audience in a game of senior citizen trivial pursuit. Participants will have the opportunity to remember things from "yesteryear" in a fun event designed to keep mind active and encourage memories of the past. Special guests and other surprises are planned.

The series is a cooperative endeavor between Elderbridge Agency on Aging, Foster Grandparent Program, Friendship Haven, Iowa Central Community College, Iowa State University Extension, and Trinity Healthy Living - Health Partners at TRMC. For additional information, please contact any of the sponsors.

Any program in the series may be cancelled due to inclement weather. If the schools are closed, or close early due to the weather, the program will be cancelled and rescheduled.
