To the editor:
On Friday and Saturday, you will have another opportunity to come and hear a wonderful spiritual message from the Sonshine Singers. These shows will be on Friday 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. Performances will take place at the Decker Auditorium on the Iowa Central Community College campus. Students from Community Christian and St Edmond will be sharing their young talent with us for one song. We are thrilled about this, as multiple generations sing praises together.
Letters usually tell you about the wonderful message you will receive from attending a Sonshine concert and that is certainly true. But one thing many of you might not know is the generous spirit that Sonshine has had in donating our good will offerings to others. Even though the freewill offering received from the March ministry is retained to cover our expenses of rentals for rehearsals and performances, the offering received from the Christmas ministry and other events we sing for is not kept by the Sonshine organization. In fact, over the last 13 years of our ministry, the Sonshine Singers have donated over $20,000 to Fort Dodge agencies and other organizations outside our immediate area.Recipients of our donations have included the Olson Park Bandshell restoration project, Beacon of Hope, the Lord's Cupboard, The Food Pantry, The Salvation Army, Santa Cops, Cancer Society, Upper Des Moines Opportunity and many other individual benefits around the area.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our events as we continue to share our faith with you through the music we sing. May you too be richly blessed.
