To the editor:
Next Tuesday, the people of Iowa will have a chance to have their presence felt at the Iowa Marriage Rally being held at the Capital in Des Moines at 10 a.m.
The Family Leader is sponsoring this event and if you have ever gone to church and repeated "I believe in God, the father, the almighty," you need to attend this rally. Christians need to take a stand and show that we are not the minority, nor are we haters of people. We believe in God's word. God created Eve for Adam, man and woman. Did you know that (some in) the American Psychiatric Association is trying to remove pedophilia from the list of mental disorders because of the "stigma" to those who commit the crime? The APA also did this with homosexuality in the 1970s. Where does it stop? Do we approve of all unnatural behavior to save someone's feelings?
I will not throw out scriptures to you, because in order to not take them out of context, which many on both sides of this issue do, we would have to print chapters, which there is not room for. But God does not change on his stance on murder, stealing, homosexuality and many other wrong behaviors, so if you consider yourself a Christian I urge you to consider attending next Tuesday. I believe it was Alexander Hamilton that said it best, "If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything."
