EL DORADO, Kan. - The fourth-ranked (NJCAA Div. II) Iowa Central softball team went 2-1 at the BuCo Bash on Friday.

The Tritons (26-3 overall) earned victories over Garden City (4-3) and Western Nebraska (5-0) and fell to Div. I tournament host Butler (6-2) in the nightcap.

Molly Cox (3-0) and Corinne Frei (11-0) each earned wins in the circle for Iowa Central. Frei tossed a perfect game with five strikeouts against Western.

Morgan Allee highlighted the Triton offensive attack in the finale with a double and triple.

"We had our chances to win all three, but we made too many mistakes and gave up four unearned runs against Butler," said ICCC head coach Josh Sandin. "In the other games, we did all we wanted to do. Frei was really dealing and looked good for us."

Iowa Central will turn around and face Crowder here today at 1 p.m.
