To the editor:
Back in 2001 we were honored with the All-America City Award given to just 10 cities in the nation. Our message was "The lights are back on in Fort Dodge and the future is bright." That was over 10 years ago, with a lot of hard work and planning, the progress this city has made in that time is truly amazing. Schools, trails, streets, aquatic center, Harlan Rogers expansion, library, ag park, numerous retail shops, restaurants, Friendship Haven expansion, Trinity Regional expansion, Iowa Central Community College expansion, Almost Home Animal Shelter, and housing just to name a few.
What an incredible transformation of our city in such a short period of time. We now find ourselves on the horizon of additional opportunities and incredible growth; let's keep Fort Dodge moving forward with the state and privately funded crosstown connector. It is a vital component to keeping Fort Dodge on its current path of ongoing improvement and helping to ensure our "bright future."
