To the editor:
The Fort Dodge Noon Kiwanis Club would like to thank the Fort Dodge Community for the fantastic response to our major annual fundraiser, Kiwanis Pancake Day, recently held on March 17. Thank you to those of you who bought tickets and ate pancakes. Thank you for the support of the many businesses that also bought tickets and donated items for our first ever silent auction. Thank you to the other Fort Dodge Kiwanis Clubs, Fort Dodge Golden K and Aktion Club members who provided manpower. Thanks for the support of Kohl's department store and store manager Brian Tadlock, for the volunteer help and financial support through the Kohl's Cares, Associates in Action program.
We are pleased to announce that with a combination of donations, a portion of the funds raised at pancake day, and a grant from the Nebraska -Iowa District Foundation of Kiwanis, the funds have been raised to resurface the walking path around Fort Dodge's Oleson Park Zoo in a cooperative effort of the Friends of Oleson Park Zoo and Noon Kiwanis. This resurfacing project should be completed in the near future.
The funds raised through Kiwanis Pancake Day also fund many projects for children and youth in keeping with Kiwanis International 's mission of changing the world one child and one community at a time.
Thanks again for the generosity of the Fort Dodge Community and businesses that made this year's pancake day a resounding success.
