Jacobson earns optometric honor

Dr. Rich Jacobson, of Fort Dodge, received the Iowa Optometric Association Retired Military Service Award during its 114th annual congress held in Des Moines. The annual meeting was attended this year by 253 ODs.

This award is given to a member optometrist who has retired from the military who has gone above and beyond the normal call of duty in volunteering their services to their association and profession.

Jacobson served 32 years total, including active duty Air Force and Air National Guard. He retired as a colonel, serving his last four years as commander of the 132nd Medical Squadron of the 132nd Tactical Fighter Wing in Des Moines.
