The St. Edmond girls tennis team jumped into the win column on Thursday, downing Carroll Kuemper by a 7-2 count at Butler Courts.
Picking up singles victories for the Gaels (1-6 overall) were Mary Eide, Ellen Chalstrom, Claire Crimmins and Madeline Baldwin.
In doubles action, Eide and Emilee Mobley, Chalstrom and Crimmins and Baldwin and Jazmine Myers all prevailed as well for St. Edmond.
"It felt good to get our first win," said SEHS head coach Tyler Philipsen. "We left feeling pretty satisfied. We've been improving throughout the season and maybe for the first time our girls can finally see just how much. Taking all of our doubles matches was a nice punctuation mark to finish the night and a long week of matches."
Next meet for the Gaels is Tuesday when they host Webster City at 4:15 p.m.
