WEBSTER CITY - The annual Southfield Wellness community hog roast will be serving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 6 at 416 Des Moines St., Webster City, in the Assisted Living Apartment garages.
The meal will consist of pork sandwiches, all the fixings, dessert and beverage.
No reservations are required for the free event which will signal the National Nursing Home Week celebration, May 13-19.
A basket will be available to make optional, tax-deductible donations to Upper Des Moines Opportunity to help those in need.
Marilyn Middleton, marketing coordinator, encourages everyone to stop by after church for a free meal and take a self-directed tour through the care center or assisted living apartments. Staff will be available to discuss the many living options at Southfield Wellness Community, which is owned by ABCM Corp., based in Hampton.
The care center will be transformed into a "Journey around the World" for Nursing Home Week and will include decorations, food and activities to match the theme of a different country each day. The countries on the journey will be Italy, Japan, Mexico, France and the United States.
Everyone is welcome to attend any day, May 14-18.
