To the editor:
I'm glad to see that efforts are still being made to make the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline possible. The pipeline would bring Canadian Oil Sands to American refineries, providing us with a reliable source of energy, create thousands of jobs, and stimulate the economy.
It would be extremely irresponsible for us not to boost our energy security by tapping into this vast energy supply. In addition to the Keystone XL Pipeline, we should be taking advantage of every energy resource we have here in America in order to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
We cannot continue to be held at the mercy of other countries that are unreliable and even hostile toward our country. It's time to take advantage of the resources we can purchase from our friendly neighbor to the north along with all of those that we can harness here. It is common sense and the only way we will ever be an energy secure nation.
