LAKE CITY - Bernice Warnke, 92, died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City with burial in Merle Hay Cemetery in Glidden. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City.
Bernice is survived by her niece, Bonnie Gray of Carroll, nephews, Michael Heuton of Grand Junction, CO, and John Heuton of Charleston, SC, and many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth, brother, Robert Heuton, and sisters, Mildred Gray and Ruth Heuton.
Bernice Marie Heuton was born August 19, 1919 at the farm in Carroll County to Karl and Clara (Sporleder) Heuton. In February 1945, she was married to Kenneth Warnke at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glidden. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Carroll, and enjoyed farm work, sewing, especially doll clothes, cooking, and plants.
