The Fort Dodge girls golf team nearly knocked off Ames at the Fort Dodge Country Club on Tuesday.
The Dodgers (3-8 overall) were edged 200-201.
Senior Courtney Thrams led the Dodgers with a 48.

Freshman Kylie Kuiper was next in line with a 49.
Alexis Gregerson and Christy Payton both shot 52s for the Dodgers.
"Ames is usually tight with their team scores,'' said Fort Dodge head coach Kristi Clark. "We played well and came close.''

Fort Dodge is back in action on Saturday when they head to Storm Lake for an invitational at Lake Creek.
The Dodgers will host the Fort Dodge Invitational on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Country Club.
