Brenda Birchard is a recipient of the May Fort Dodge Correctional Facility Spotlight Award.
The monthly award was established to recognize individuals who have performed outstanding work, demonstrated a commitment to a team atmosphere, participated in a major accomplishment or are/were involved in a project or event in the operation of the facility on in the community.
Birchard began her career with the Department of Corrections at FDCF on Nov. 12, 1999, as a correctional building service coordinator. She is in charge of the Leader Dog program at FDCF, coordinating the puppy classes and matching inmate handlers to the puppies.
