To the editor:
The 2012 MAGWED fishing tournament dedicated in memory of its founder Bob Brown Messenger sportswriter succeeded with many prizes given out. An estimated 400 adults were on hand for the weigh-in and over 45 children received tackle boxes or fishing poles, helping them become young fisherman and women promoting our sport. Because it's all about the kids. We were able to have our weigh-in without Mother Nature raining on our event and many fine fish were entered.
The MAGWED Foundation would like to thank the following sponsors for their support: Paul Electric, Dencklau Insurance Services, Allan Messerly, Beisser Lumber, Bobby and Dianne Nowell, Daniel Tire, Green Amusement, Howard's Bodyshop, Kesterson Realty & Appraisal, Laufersweiler Funeral Home, Messerly TV, Midwest Plant Maintenance, Mike and Joy Thoma, Mike Hueitt, Tim Lennon, Channel Bio, C & S Products, Algona Marine & Sport, Bill and Connie Thoma, Precision Machine & Welding, Antlers, Hy-Vee, Domino's Pizza, Amigos, Dave and Bonnie Rhodes, Deercreek Golf, Humes Distributing Inc., Moeller Furnace, The Messenger, Country Side BBQ, Community Tap, Cutting Edge Salon, Doug and Julie Barkema, Farmers Best Popcorn, Jerry Vought and Marsha Volkmer, J-Mars, John and Sue Thoma, Lance Tepfer, Lazerwash, NAPA Fort Dodge, Northern Lights Distributing, Northland Auto & Marine, Otho Pub, Riley Armstrong, Scentsy Products, Sneakers, Taco Tico, Randy Thompson, Dana and Paul Lindner, Shoppers Supply, Bruce Oldson, Randy and Mel Thoma, Iowa Outdoor Store, Roger Brown, Twin Lakes Marine, Keith's Outdoors, Curt and Rhonda Peterson, Chesterfield Bar & Grill, Budweiser, Sawyer Meats, Chip and Colleen Denklau, B&L Drive Thru, Chuck Grant and Dianne Krebs, Jerry Thoma, Tim Thoma, Triggs Bay Resort.
